Work on Virgin’s Flagship Store in London involved redesigning the two lower floors to create impact and producing an environment which is easy to shop and navigate.

The key new feature in the store was a giant 6m x 5m events screen, situated in the central atrium at ground floor level, which activates every 20 minutes for maximum attention grabbing and traffic stopping impact. It offers customers entertainment, playing the latest new music videos and draws attention to the other floors in the megastore.

Departmental focal points have been created incorporating interactive listening stations. These focal points also create opportunities to frame and promote specific product lines.

There is a new stage for live performances and signings located in the basement to create a more club-like environment. Adjoining the stage is a café where customers can relax, listen, play in the Atari coffee den as well as grab some food and a great cup of coffee.

The café, stage and event screen centralise the store’s focus around the atrium making customers aware of the full offer in store.
