French womenswear brand Regina Rubens, part of the LVMH Group, chose the former home of George Frederic Handel for their second store in London.
Consisting of five rooms over two floors, all work was carried out with the approval of English Heritage.
The store consisted of three rooms on the ground floor with a further two in the basement. All of the ground floor rooms had either listed wall panelling or moulded ceilings that could not be fixed to or altered in any way.
To accommodate such particular needs, a freestanding merchandise system was developed, with hidden lighting in the rear face of units picking out the textures of the existing timber panels.
The end result is a balance of the retail needs of today with the beauty of the past
