The Holiday Inn at Disneyland Resort Paris was created so children can have fun, and parents can relax. Circus, the theme of the Holiday Inn is a natural one, offering the hotel an historical background and the design a contemporary edge.

As you walk into reception you are greeted by a huge image of a trapeze artist wrapped around the wall and ceiling. In the restaurant, above contemporary furniture and bold graphic imagery 1.5m diameter light shades punctuate the ceiling. A double height space in the bar in the evening is filled with projections of animated Victorian circus performers. Programming ensures you never see the same sequence twice.

The guest rooms have two distinct areas. The main area with calm finishes of dark wood and a children’s den which uses circus inspired striped fabrics, wallpaper and bed covers. The hotel is a success as it caters for adults in its clever use of design, and children with entertainment and intrigue. European Hotel Awards Best Public Space: commended.
