Nestled in one of Soho’s narrower streets, DFGW lacked an adequate reception area with the entrance serving as lobby only. In effect, they were an advertising agency with an image problem.
The long narrow plan, with the only natural light coming from the street entrance called for a simple and uncluttered approach.
To create texture and light we created a backlit wall of protruding acrylic rods. The reception desk was raised on an aluminium dais and the vision from the street part obscured by an etched glass screen.
The entrance lobby was also protected by an open steel and timber sliding gate giving the receptionists a view of the outside.
